Food and Packaging Industries Exhibition “Food Expo 2024” kicks off at Damascus Fairgrounds

With the participation of more than 280 specialized Syrian, Arab and foreign brands, activities of the 19th edition of the Food and Packaging Industries Exhibition “Food Expo 2024” kicked off on Tuesday at Damascus fairgrounds .
Following his tour in the exhibition, Minister of Industry Abdul Qadir Joukhadar said in a statement to the media that the exhibition constitutes a good economic opportunity for marketing food industries and a chance for participants to promote their products and learn about the latest developments and modern manufacturing techniques achieved in this industry.
The minister noted the government’s support for all industries, especially the agricultural and food ones, to move the wheel of economy and develop the national industrial sector.
For his part, the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Hassan Qatna, pointed to the increase in the number of industrialists participating in this new edition of the exhibition, in the light of the increase in agricultural production in quality and quantity.
He stressed that this  is a clear evidence that agriculture is still moving forward by creating new varieties and types and products that conform to the specifications, considering that Food industries are part of food security through manufacturing agricultural products.
It is worth mentioning that there are new local, Arab and international companies participating in the exhibition from East Asia,  Indonesia and Malaysia, in addition to Saudi, Egyptian, Lebanese and Jordanian companies as well as many new local companies that have entered production wheel.
The exhibition, whose activities will continue until the 29th of this month, includes a wide range of various manufactured food products, including canned goods, meat, oils, salmon, sweets, biscuits, chocolate, hot and cold drinks, raw materials, machines, techniques and packaging materials.
