Fitur 2024″ kicks off in Madrid with Syria’s participation

The activities of the 44th edition of the International Tourism Exhibition “Fitur 2024”, kicked off on Wednesday in Madrid, Spain, with the participation of Syria.

The 5-day exhibition, in which 156 countries are taking part, aims at enhancing the tourism sector, improving its work, and discussing important tourism issues that have priority in the coming year.

Assistant Minister of Tourism, Nidal Mashfej explained that “Fitur 2024” is one of the most important exhibitions in the world, and it ranks fourth in Europe, and Syria has been a regular participant in the exhibition since the 1980s, noting the importance of the Spanish and European market in the global tourism map.

Mashfej noted the importance of Syria’s continuous participation in various international exhibitions and forums, and of holding specialized workshops, and focusing on attracting tourists from China, Russia and neighboring countries, such as Jordan and Iraq, and conveying a message that Syria is still present on the global tourism map. He affirmed that the exhibition is an important opportunity to promote the Syrian tourism sector through the participation of 15 companies and offices along with the Ministry of Tourism and the Federation of Tourism Chambers in this event.
