SINGAPORE, JUN.1, (ST)- High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell , has stressed the necessity of avoiding double standards regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and the decision of the International Court of Justice.
Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue Forum in Singapore on building cooperative security in the Asia-Pacific region, Borrell said: “Europe’s security is linked to the security and stability of Asia, so double standards must be avoided, with regard to the situation in the Gaza Strip and the decision of the International Court of Justice.”
He clarified that international humanitarian law is not respected , and there are questions we must answer regarding Gaza and the issue of respect for international laws.
In another context, Borrell stressed that the European Union does not have any evidence to prove the allegations of arms supplies from China to Russia.
It is noteworthy that the “Asian Security Summit Shangri-La Dialogue” is an annual inter-governmental security forum held by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (ISS) and attended by defense ministers and other military from 28 countries from the Asia-Pacific region.
The forum takes its name from the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore, and it has been held since 2002.
