A collective exhibition entitled “Euphrates Rhythms” for four artists from the Al-Mayadeen region in Deir Ez-Zor Governorate is currently being held at the Arab Cultural Center “Abu Rummanah in Damascus.
The collective exhibition includes 55 paintings for four prominent artists from different generations painted with oil, watercolor, and acrylic colors. The drawings show different topics inspired from the local environment of the Euphrates environment in the city of Al-Mayadeen.
Artist Hiba Amerir participated in the exhibition with 10 paintings. She told Syriatimes that the exhibition includes diverse paintings depicting the archaeological monuments of the Euphrates region, natural landscapes, beside the old neighborhoods in Damascus.
“My oil colors paintings depict silent nature as lanterns, jars, peacocks, pomegranates, copper – and woman , which is a symbol of motherhood for me”.
Hiba aims through her participation in this event is to make people familiar with the heritage of the Euphrates region through drawing.
The participating artist Adnan Al- Khashman displayed 25 oil paintings embodying the beauty of the Euphrates river and its banks also the local nature, and woman .
Adnan participated in exhibitions inside and outside Syria, including Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and others.
” participating in this collective exhibition familiarizes me with the paintings and experience of others” Adnan said.
For his part, artist Afif Al- Sayer displayed10 oil colors paintings which depict diverse themes as silent nature, woman, and the Arabian horse with its beautiful color which lives in Euphrates region over the years .
” I Like drawing the Arabian horse and nature for me is a symbol of calm” he said.
Artist Afif participates in several exhibitions inside and outside Syria.
Artist Abdel Halim Al-Wardi showed five oil colors paintings reflecting the beauty nature of al-Mayadeen countryside, the rural woman , and old houses and neighborhood.
He also displayed a collection of small paintings depicting the silent nature using new techniques in drawing which is the blade.
” My drawings are inspired from old heritage. I use simplicity in drawing . I want to preserve and revive our heritage and folklore through drawing” he said.
He aims from his participating is make people acquaint with the old heritage and traditions of Al-Mayadeen region.
