Erbin city witnesses an accelerated movement to restore commercial activity and resume production

The commercial movement is accelerating in the markets of the city of Erbin in Damascus countryside after the restoration of the infrastructures of the various sectors. This prompted the resumption of the production process in most facilities and the start of marketing its products into and out of Erbin, which is the center of many businesses.

Stores of clothing, vegetables, fruits, electronics and household appliances, bookstores, fast food restaurants and others are resuming their activities and work. This has helped in the recovery of the city in which more than 55.000 people are currently residing, according to the head of the local council, Engineer Rateb Omar Shahrour.

“After the city was liberated from terrorist organizations, the council worked with the help of civil society and economic activities to encourage the residents of Erbin to return and start reconstructing their homes, shops and workshops”,  Eng. Shahrour told the Syrian News Agency (SANA), pointing out that approximately 17,000 residents remained steadfast and did not leave the city.

“The return of the people coincided with the return of many factories to work and production, which attracted a lot of labour forces. The restoration of the infrastructure that was completely destroyed continues and this has activated the economic movement and the city’s markets,” Eng. Shahrour clarified, highlighting the positive interaction between the council, civil society and economic activities that  made great progress in restoring life to the city.

A number of shop owners and citizens expressed their happiness over the return of their city, the start of business in it, and the opening of markets, hoping that all sectors, especially electricity, will witness the necessary recovery because it is the backbone of life.
