Embassy Of Venezuela Celebrates 213rd Independence Anniversary At Al-Assad House For Culture and Arts
Damascus-(ST)- The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Damascus celebrated the 213rd anniversary of its independence at the Al-Assad House for Culture and Arts.
Venezuelan Ambassador Jose Biomorgi stressed in a speech his country’s steadfastness in the face of pressures and challenges facing it from the United States, pointing to the struggle of Syria and Venezuela against terrorism and colonialism.
Biomorgi stressed that threats cannot break the will of the Venezuelan people, who never accept being subservient to any external forces, noting that the United States claimed in 2015 that Venezuela poses a threat to Washington’s national security, while, in fact, it was an attempt to plunder the country’s national wealth.
Biomorgi affirmed that Venezuela stands by the Palestinian people until victory is achieved, pointing to the genocide taking place in Palestine by the Israeli occupation against children and women.
Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Raad conveyed, in a speech during the ceremony, the congratulations of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal Al-Mikdad to the government and people of Venezuela on the anniversary of independence, stressing that the relations that unite the two countries are rooted in history and are characterized by the common struggle in the face of Western pressures that aim to undermine their steadfastness and resistance against American hegemony in the world.
Raad stressed Syria’s keenness to strengthen the relations between the two friendly countries and develop them in all fields to reach the level of the distinguished political relations that bring them together.
He noted Venezuela’s support for Syria during the terrorist war imposed on it since 2011, expressing his appreciation for Venezuela’s position in support of the rights of the Palestinian people, who are being subjected to genocide.
Raad renewed Syria’s support for Venezuela in holding the presidential elections scheduled for the twenty-eighth of this month in accordance with the principles of its constitution.
The ceremony included the screening of a documentary film about the stages of Venezuelan independence, entitled The Road to Carabobo.
