DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Syria is keen on taking necessary procedures to solve the problem of power outage within the extraordinary circumstances which Syria is going through, Electricity Minister said on Saturday.
Eng. Imad Khamis told workers at National Control Center: “electricity sector is facing big challenges because of resources shortage, unfair economic sanctions on the Syrian people that caused lack in fuel needed to operate power plants.”
He appealed for removing obstacles that face mechanism of work, benefitting from available resources, and distributing quantity of power justly among all provinces.
Over last months, the armed terrorist groups attacked power plants.
The minister underlined that the attacks come within the framework of the aggression against Syria to destroy infrastructures and national economy.
