Egyptian Foreign Ministry Demands Unified International Position to Protect Palestinian People in Gaza
Egypt strongly condemned the crime committed by the Israeli occupation at dawn today by shelling the “al-Tabayeen ” school, which shelters displaced people in the al-Derj neighborhood east of Gaza City, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of Palestinians.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that the continuation of Israeli attacks against civilians in Gaza Strip is an ” unprecedented disregard for the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law,” calling for a unified and effective international position that provides protection for the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and puts an end to the series of targeting unarmed civilians.
The statement stressed that the ongoing committing of such large-scale crimes, and the deliberate killing of such huge numbers of unarmed civilians whenever international efforts are intensified to try to reach a formula for a ceasefire in Gaza Strip, constitutes conclusive evidence of the lack of political will on the Israeli side to end the Zionist aggression and its insistence on putting the Palestinians under the burden of an international humanitarian catastrophe that the world is unable to put an end to.
The statement stressed Egypt’s determination in its diplomatic efforts and intensive contacts with all internationally influential parties to ensure the access of humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip in various ways and means, and to work to reach a ceasefire.
