The Syrian drama always seeks occupying a strong position in the Arab drama prodution and on the Arab drama map. As in every Ramadan, the Syrian drama presents a variety of serieses which are screened on many Syrian and Arab TV channels as well as on social media platforms.
This Ramadan, a package of distinguished drama production, varying between social works , Damascene environment and comedy are being presented and are admired by people across the Arab world.
The damascene environment drama production was embodied this year through several serieses, one of them is (Marba Al Ezz) written by Moein Saleh and directed by Rasha Sharbatji. The series narrates the story of struggle between good and evil, whose plot takes place within 3 Damascus neighborhoods between 1900 and 1919. The series stars Abbas Al-Nouri, Mahmoud Nasr, Amal Arafa and others.
Moreover, events of the series Zqaq Al-Jinn” “Alley of the Jinn” also take place in the same period (1900 and 1919). The series was written by Muhammad Al-Aas and directed by Tamer Ishaq. It begins with a crime that takes place in a Damascene neighborhood, followed by a series of other crimes, carried out by the same actor, and around which the events of the work revolve. The series co-stars Ayman Zaidan, Amal Arafa, Abdel Moneim Amairi, Shukran Murtaja and others.
“Al-Arbaji” is also another series that depicts the Damascene Environment, but with a new idea. The series is written by Othman Juha and directed by Saif Al-Din Subaie. The events do not take place in a specific period of time and do not proceed according to a specific documentation of the work. It costars Baseem Yakhour, Salloum Haddad and Dima Kandalaft.
This drama season witnessed the presentation of the series (Wolves of the Night) which is categorized as historical fantasy, written by Hani Al Saadi and directed by Sami Al Janadi.
The series “Al Karazon”, is also being presented in Ramadan within the framework social drama. It tells the story of a rich man trying to deceive his daughter that he died in the Beirut Port explosion, in an attempt to train her to be self-reliant. The work is written by Marwan Kawouk and Raneem Al-Awda and directed by Rashad Kokash.
As for the comedy works, the series “Qarar Wazir” is presented this Ramadan. It tells the story of a minister who suffers from pressures, corruption, and nepotism within a comic template. The series is written and directed by Tariq Al-Sawah.
The Ramadan drama race for 2023 witnessed the return of some series with new parts, the most famous of which are “Bab Al-Hara 13”, “Haret Al-Qobba 3” and “An Interview with Mr. Adam 2”.
