Detaining and injuring Palestinians in the West Bank

2 Palestinians were injured and others were detained today during the Israeli occupation forces’ raids on various areas in the West Bank.

Wafa News Agency reported that the occupation forces stormed several neighborhoods in the city of Al Khali (Hebron) and the towns of Al-Rihiya, Yatta to the south, and Idhna to the west, detained 4 young men, and assaulted two young men, causing them to suffer fractures and bruises.

The occupation forces raided homes in the city of Bethlehem, the towns of Al-Mughayyir and Beitunia in Ramallah, and the Aqabat Jaber camp in Areha (Jericho), and detained 8 Palestinians, including a girl.

The occupation forces continued to storm the village of Haris, west of Salfit, for the second day and obstructed the educational process, as they stormed the schools and prevented teachers and students from reaching their schools and detained a number of them.

The head of the village council, Omar Samara, explained that the occupation forces abused the residents and searched their homes and detained about 70 Palestinians since yesterday evening, most of them children.

In a related context, today, the Israeli occupation forces demolished the village of Al-Araqib in the Negev region in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 for the 230th time, since the occupation first demolished it on July 27, 2010.

Wafa News Agency reported that the occupation forces stormed the village with a number of bulldozers and demolished the tents of the villagers. This is the eighth time that the occupation authorities have demolished the village since the beginning of this year.

The people of Al-Araqeeb are re-erecting their tents from wood and nylon covers every time in order to confront the occupation’s plans to uproot and displace them from their land.

The occupation forces also stormed the village of Al-Jiftlik, north of the city of Areha (Jericho) in the West Bank, and demolished a house, while settlers bulldozed lands in the town of Qarawa, west of Salfit in the West Bank.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the occupation authorities carried out 62 demolition operations during the past month, concentrated in Al Quds (Jerusalem), Al Khalil (Hebron), Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Bethlehem, Tubas and Tulkarm.
