Deputy Minister of Social Affairs holds talks on social protection and digital transformation on sidelines of ILO conference
Geneva, (ST) – On the sidelines of Syria’s participation in the work of the 111th session of the International Labor organization (ILO) Conference held in Geneva, Assistant Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Muhammad Firas Nabhan discussed with the Iraqi Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, the Director of the Labor Relations Directorate in the Jordanian Ministry of Labor, and the Regional Director of the International Labor Organization for Arab States, means of cooperation in the field of social protection and digital transformation.
Nabhan discussed with the Regional Director of the International Labor Organization for the Arab States Ruba Jaradat areas of training, qualification and exchange of experiences to build the capabilities of workers in the areas of social protection networks and the labor market system in order to achieve digital transformation through accurate data that achieves the convergence between social security and the labor market.
In her turn, Jaradat expressed the readiness of the regional office to enhance the areas of cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor through effective programs that benefit all parties to the production process in Syria.
In a separate meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Ahmed Jassem Al-Asadi, Nabhan stressed the importance of joint work and cooperation in terms of organizing the affairs of expatriate workers between Syria and Iraq, and the need for continued coordination in many areas of common interest.
In a similar context, Nabhan discussed with the Director of the Labor Relations Directorate at the Jordanian Ministry of Labor, Adnan Al-Dahamshe the necessity of benefiting from the Jordanian experience in the field of digital transformation.
The mechanism for regulating foreign labor between the two countries, and many issues of common interest were also discussed.
