Defending Principles Has Its Price, Underlined President Assad

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ ”Defending principles has its price and we in Syria have been paying a very big price as to safeguard our homeland and the independency of our decision,” underscored H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad.

Receiving the participants in the Damascus held meetings of the Executive Committee of World Peace Council here today, President Assad added: ” the principles, being realistic and based on the interests of the people, are but the solid foundations in the face of the narrow interests of some Western countries which never even hesitate to  launch wars for their interests,”

 For achieving this objective, such countries use extremist thinking, propagated for by the US Administration in the eighties, and spread ignorance as to facilitate their plots to push the people towards wars, and not to forget their spread of poverty worldwide,” added H.E. President Assad.

President Assad highlighted the pivotal role of the World Peace Council and the International Democratic Youth Union in commitment to the defence of truth in embodiment for peace principles when international policies are based on lies and misleading the people.

”The world is in a dire need for the existence of such organizations and parties, given the bids by some big powers as to transform several International Organizations into tools as to target stability and cover up wars and push for destruction instead of working for the bolstering of world peace and stability,” outlined President Assad.

President Assad thanked the participants for their stances in support of Syria and their solidarity with the Syrian People since the beginning of the war against Syria, asserting that the principles upon which the World Peace Council is based could contribute to the achievement of a more secure and just world for coming generations.

The participants considered in their interventions the Syrians fight against terrorism is but the fight of all people for a world of peace, self determination away from whatever foreign interferences, asserting their permanent stance by the Syrians in a one front in their heroic struggle in defence of their homeland.

The participants voiced their confidence that the Syrian People are able to achieve victory against terrorism and those who support it lauding Syria’s permanent contributions to humanity, region, outlining Syria’s support for peace and resistance worldwide.
