Damascus to host major economic conference for the first time in years

Activities of the 4th Conference of the Federation of Arab Industrial Cities and Zones are to kick off in Damascus on November 29th under the slogan “Investment in the Arab Industrial Cities and Zones”.

The conference, which is organized by the Federation of Arab Industrial Cities and Zones in cooperation and coordination with the Arab Unions for Chemical Industries and Information Technology, is the first to be held by Arab unions in Damascus in years, according to the Secretary General of the Federation of Arab Industrial Cities and Zones Samer Ahmad Al-Hamou.

This major economic event constitutes an opportunity for decision makers and experts in the sector of industrial cities and zones to hold consultations and exchange expertise, said Al-Hamou, stressing that the conference is a means to introduce the latest developments in economic cooperation among Arab countries.

 According to Al-Hamou, the conference provides an important chance for public and private sectors in Syria to present the available investment opportunities. He pointed out that several official and business meetings will be held to present the investment opportunities available in Syrian in the reconstruction stage.

The event aims at shedding light on successful experiences and on investment incentives granted by industrial cities’ administrations in Arab countries. It also aims at encouraging Arab and foreign investors and businessmen to invest in well-studied projects planned to be implemented in Arab industrial cities and zones, especially through proposing the joint Arab projects that serve Arab economy.
