Damascus Messages

The statements of President Bashar al-Assad to the Czech newspaper “Literarni Noviny” are still received with wide attention in the media, political circles, and the public opinion in many countries of the world.

In this interview, President al-Assad focused on the Western leaders’ responsibility for the spread of terrorism which expands rapidly to include the European countries. The western politicians don’t care about Syria’s warning about supporting the terrorist organizations that move their terrorism to most countries of the world. This is what actually happened in France, Belgium, China, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Turkey and in other countries.

President al-Assad put a clear view of the mechanism to combat both, the terrorist ideology and the terrorists.  Fighting the terrorist ideology which requires an intellectual, economic and social treatment. While fighting terrorists needs the using of military force to hunt down the terrorists and eliminate their organizations wherever they exist.

Some world leaders, especially those of the west, gave the priority to their personal interests and are indifferent to the security interests and the need for global stability. President al-Assad has criticized previously the western politicians of short-sighted vision because they think that they can employ terrorism to achieve their political agendas and then they can get rid of it easily. This is wrong thinking and perhaps what happened in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria is the best proof of that.

Unfortunately, the problem here is that the Western leaders do not take the good decisions after they exercised all the wrong decisions.

The expansion of terrorism imposes on all the political decision-makers in the world, especially those countries that claim the war on terrorism, to reconsider their wrong policies and relations with Syria.
