Cultivation of 882 hectares with summer tomatoes in Al-Hassakah

The final planted area with the summer tomato crop, which was planted in various areas of Al-Hassakah Governorate for the current season, reached 882 hectares, exceeding its sub-cropping plan of 600 hectares.

Head of the Plant Production Department at the Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Jalal Bilal, said  in a statement to SANA’s correspondent that the estimated production of the area cultivated with the tomato crop is 13,230 tons.

Bilal explained that the tomato crop is one of the main crops in the list of crops for summer vegetables, and farmers agree to grow it in various areas of agricultural stability that have fixed water sources for  irrigation operations areas .
