Creative handmade works at a charity Bazaar

The annual Charity bazaar, held by the “New Generation for Culture and Arts”association in Damascus with the participation of women from five civil society associations that are interested in handicrafts, showcased  a variety of handicrafts, clothes, candles, soap, cosmetics, food, sweets, Christmas decorations  and other hand-made products.

The proceeds of the two-day event will go to the poor, families of martyrs, orphans, and people with special needs.

Annie Charikian, from the organizing committee of New Generation Association said: “the aim of holding this activity is to encourage participants to exhibit their creative products in such social activities.

 “The association displayed products from Armenia such as chocolate, and handicrafts representing the Armenian heritage to acquaint people with the Armenian culture” she added.

Participant Margret Arkilian told Syriatimes that her exhibits are all hand-made, including jewelries from precious stones and modern crochet works. She indicated that she presented in the bazaar a variety of handicrafts to brief visitors of the bazaar on her products.

Participating women found in the bazaar an opportunity to display and market their own handmade products.
