Citizens in Aleppo: “We should participate in the presidential elections in order not to give the West a pretext to interfere in our affairs”

The citizens in Syria’s Aleppo are eager to take part in the forthcoming presidential elections in the country, stressing that their participation is national duty for defending Syria against all forms of foreign intervention and rebuilding what terrorism has destroyed.

“We should participate in the presidential elections in order not to give the West a pretext to interfere in our affairs, given the fact that these elections are the core of the battle with the West,” Eng. Basel Khaled told SANA, affirming that the Syrians are going to choose their leader for the coming stage and will send a message to the West saying “leave us alone, we decide who will lead Syria.”

Physiotherapist Khalifa Kassara said that the Syrians have triumphed over terrorism and they must practice their electoral right in contributing to the reconstruction process and to the attainment of stability and progress in Syria, reiterating that only the Syrian people have the right to decide the future of their country away from foreign interference and based on the constitution.

A number of employees also emphasized the need to participate in voting in the presidential elections, because “these elections will decide the future of Syria and the Syrian citizens”.

Many citizens underlined the role of the educated Syrian youths and all categories of the Syrian society in making the electoral process a success through their active participation in deciding the future of their country, protecting it from terrorism and sending a message to the world that the Syrian people are steadfast and adherent to their land, state and national options.

Merchants in Aleppo also asserted that the participation in the presidential elections is a national and moral duty of all Syrian citizens, calling on the Syrians to vote for the candidate whom they believe will lead Syria to a better future.
