China Condemns Israeli Aggression Against West Bank

Chinese Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Geng Shuang strongly condemned the Israeli aggression on the West Bank, which resulted in many martyrs and wounded people.

“China strongly condemns this aggression, which targeted Palestinian cities in the West Bank, including Tulkarm, Jenin and Tubas,” Xinhua quoted Shuang as saying in a briefing to the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East.

“In the West Bank, Israel continues to violate international law and UN Security Council resolutions by expanding settlements and intensifying searches, arrests and raids on Palestinians,” Shuang said.

Noting that the Israeli officials have recently talked about repeating what they are doing in Gaza Strip and now applying it in the West Bank, Shuang said: “We are shocked and very concerned by such extremist statements.

The Chinese representative stressed Beijing’s opposition and rejection of any actions or statements that would aggravate tensions. China also condemns attacks on civilians and calls for “calm and restraint” to prevent further escalation, he said.

“The Gaza Strip has now turned into a hell on Earth, “ Shuang said. “We must never allow the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza Strip to be repeated in the West Bank… This will turn the West Bank into another hell on earth,” he added.
