Caretaker PM: Work on repairing the Arab gas line is underway at a rapid pace

Damascus (ST): Caretaker Prime Minister Hussein Arnous affirmed  that work on repairing the Arab gas line, which was subjected to a terrorist attack yesterday at dawn, is underway quickly, noting that by evening the line will be fully operable  and will start pumping gas to Deir Ali station.

Inspecting the maintenance teams working to repair the Arab gas line in the area between al-Dumeir and Adra, Arnous said that 1100 MW went out of service at one moment because of  the terrorist attack on the gas line that supplies the stations  and this has led to the disruption of the power network and a general power outage.

He added that thanks to the efforts of the workers of the Electricity Ministry and the Petroleum Ministry, the state of the electricity output in Syria had improved by 8:00 am and exceeded 60%.

In turn, Caretaker Information Minister Imad Sara stressed from the site that the attack on the gas line aims at putting pressure on Syria, especially that it coincides with holding the meeting of the Committee for  Discussing the Constitution in Geneva, adding that there are some sides that want to get compromises but they will not get what they want.

Sara added that the enemies of the Syrian people are trying to attack the Syrians by depriving them from the basic constituents of their life, noting that terrorism did not begin today, but it started in 2011 when thousands of mercenary terrorists were brought to Syria to destroy the infrastructure including electricity networks and hospitals.
