DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad underscored the importance of the role played by BRICS members, including South Africa, in creating a kind of balance in international relations as well as in derailing western hegemony and bids to interfere in other states internal affairs.
During talks here Thursday with the visiting Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Nomaindia Mfeketo, H.E. President Al-Assad considered the benefit by South Africa experience as of utmost importance in all fields, blasting the West which seems not be in need for partners but for characterless satellite states.
H.E. Mfeketo voiced South Africa support for solving the crisis in Syria with no foreign interference, citing the dire need for a halt in the backing provided by some states to terrorist groups.
H.E. Mfeketo reiterated her country’s stand by the Syrian People in the face of terrorist groups acts.
Assertion was also made on the importance of bilateral cooperation in cultural, scientific and university students scholarships in boosting of a distinguished future for the people of both friendly countries.
