Bogdanov and Al-Jaafari discuss developments in Syria and the region

Moscow, (ST) – The Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with the Syrian Ambassador in Moscow Bashar Al-Jaafari developments in Syria and the region.

Discussions focused on solving the crisis in Syria.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday that during his meeting with Al-Jaafari, Bogdanov affirmed Moscow’s readiness to continue exerting necessary efforts to advance constructive dialogue between Damascus and its regional environment based on the principles of unconditional respect for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

The ministry pointed out that the meeting also dealt with some practical issues to enhance bilateral cooperation, including the schedule of upcoming contacts. It referred that Bogdanov congratulated Ambassador Al-Jaafari on the 77th Anniversary of Evacuation Day.
