Berri: Lebanese people’s awareness and solidarity enabled them to thwart the impacts of the Israeli aggression

The Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stressed that the sacrifices, awareness and solidarity of the Lebanese people enabled them to thwart the effects of the Israeli aggression. He pointed out that Lebanon is witnessing the most dangerous historical moment that has threatened its history and future, and today it must recall all forms of unity in order to confront the challenges.

In his speech today, Berri said: “I salute those who shared with me such a moment on August 14, 2006, the partner of resistance and liberation, His Eminence, the Martyr Hassan Nasrallah, who granted me, from the first moment of the outbreak of the aggression, the responsibility of political resistance.”

He added, “thanks to the sacrifices of the martyr leaders and all the martyred resistance fighters, and the solidarity and awareness of the Lebanese, Lebanon was able to thwart the effects of the Israeli aggression, which announced the cessation of its fireball today and the beginning of a new phase. We pledge to all the martyrs that they will remain, with their names, behavior and approach, the best thing that the homeland can preserve for its sons in the present and the future, and we will not change it at all.”

Berri pointed out that Lebanon has offered more than 4,000 martyrs in defense of its land, and has shown its true face in national solidarity and unity, extending his thanks to all the countries that supported Lebanon in facing this difficult stage and all the efforts that resulted in stopping the barbaric Israeli aggression.

He Pointed out that this moment is a test for every Lebanese to save Lebanon, build it, and restore life to its constitutional institutions, foremost among which is the acceleration of the election of the President of the Republic and protecting the country against the dangers that threaten it, foremost among which is the Israeli danger, as the very precious blood that has been shed requires preserving a united Lebanon capable of emerging more steadfast, resilient, and united.

Berri called on the displaced in all Lebanese regions, in Syria, Iraq and the sister countries, that hosted them, to return to their villages and land.
