Bagheri: The UN Security Council must issue a resolution obligating the Zionist entity to halt the war in Gaza
On July 17th, Iran’s acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri called for obligating the Zionist entity to completely, immediately and unconditionally stop the genocide and war crimes in Gaza and to allow the reopening of all border crossings to deliver humanitarian aid to the Strip without hindrance.
In a speech at a UN Security Council meeting, Bagheri said that “the Council must issue a comprehensive and binding resolution under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, under which the Zionist entity must be obligated to immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw its forces from Gaza, lift the siege on it, stop the forced migration of Palestinians, stop the illegal settlement operations it is carrying out in the Strip, in addition to paying immediate and full compensation for all damages inflicted on people, infrastructure and residential areas in Gaza and the rest of the other Palestinian territories, so that the necessary conditions are available for the rapid reconstruction of Gaza.”
Bagheri also called for putting pressure on the Zionist entity to “withdraw from all occupied territories in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon and refrain from launching any military attack on Lebanon or other countries in the region.”
Bagheri added that the international community and relevant institutions must provide the basis for trying and punishing all leaders, perpetrators and supporters of Israeli crimes in Gaza and other Palestinian territories.
