Bagheri Kani to Austrian and Egyptian top diplomats: ‘Silence of European states encourages “Israel” to be more arrogant’
Tehran– Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani in a phone call with top Austrian diplomat Alexander Schallenberg has criticized some European governments for maintaining silence and their inaction on terrorist actions of the Zionist entity.
According to IRNA, Bagheri Kani talked with Schallenberg Tuesday night about the aggressive and terrorist acts of the Zionist entity that led to the martyrdom of the head of the Hamas political bureau in Tehran last week.
“Unfortunately, some European countries have remained silent on the terrorist actions of the Zionist entity in violation of international law, and this has caused the arrogance of the criminal gang ruling in Tel Aviv to intensify tension and insecurity in the region”, he said, while referring to the Israeli assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran in violation of Iran’s national sovereignty and security.
Schallenberg expressed his concern about the deteriorating situation in the West Asian region but maintained his country’s policy for not uttering a single word on the Zionist crime.
While calling on all parties to exercise restraint, the top Austrian diplomat said that his country emphasizes the need to use all diplomatic capacities to reduce tensions.
Zionist entity root cause of regional insecurity, instability
Bagheri Kani also made a phone conversation with the Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati, during which hhe repeated his country’s pledge to deliver a “decisive response” to the Israeli crime and its aggressive acts in the region.
The Zionist regime is the main cause of insecurity and instability in the region and the Islamic Republic will deal with it through a decisive response, he said.
According to IRNA, Bagheri Kani discussed the consequences of the crime of assassinating Haniyeh.
They two sides and exchanged views on the holding of an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to review the Israeli crimes, including the violation of Iran’s security and national sovereignty.
The top Iranian diplomat expressed hope that the talks would be useful and effective and can help prevent the Zionist entity’s brutalities with threats and punishment mechanisms.
Abdel Ati, for his part, highlighted the tension-causing actions of the occupying Zionist entity in the region and the failure to reach a Gaza ceasefire.
