Damascus, (ST) – Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous received a letter from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko on enhancing cooperation between Syria and Belarus especially in the economic and trade fields.
The message was delivered to the Prime Minister by the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Damascus Yuri Sloka.
Arnous considered that the relations between Syria and Belarus are solid and based on the common interest of the two friendly countries and peoples in facing pressures and blockade.
He stressed the desire of the Syrian government to develop cooperation relations with Belarus in various fields, and to enhance trade exchange through the exchange of goods and materials available in the two markets. He stressed that need to take all measures necessary to implement the agreements and the MoU signed between the two sides according to specific time programs and mechanisms.
Arnous also stressed the need to activate the role of the business sector in the two countries to carry out joint investment projects.
The Prime Minister expressed appreciation and thanks to the Republic of Belarus for standing by Syria in facing the repercussions of the earthquake and for providing relief and medical assistance to those affected.
For his part, the Belarusian ambassador Sloka affirmed that his country has sought to develop and expand economic cooperation and trade exchange with Syria. He added that his country will always work to find various formulas of cooperation that serve the common interest of the two countries.
