Arnous inspects rehabilitation works in the Fayhaa Sports City in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Aug.24, (ST)-This morning, the Prime Minister in the caretaker government, Eng. Hussein Arnous, inspected maintenance and rehabilitation works in the main football stadium, the training fields and the tennis playground in Al-Fayhaa Sports City in Damascus

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the premier inspected the stages of maintenance and rehabilitation according to the plans drawn up and within international technical specifications, and in a way that contributes to ensuring the ideal technical condition for these stadiums to be ready to receive various activities and sports games during the next stage.

“The rehabilitation works are being done in the right direction and within the scheduled timetable with the aim of returning Syrian stadiums to the global sports map, especially in terms of rehabilitating football stadiums in all aspects to be ready to receive international matches,” Arnous told reporters, referring to the importance of the works and efforts made by the General Sports Federation (GSF) in rehabilitating sports facilities, which need continuous follow-up to put them into service.

He asserted the state’s interest in sports and its support for the GSF and the athletes, and from here comes the interest in rehabilitating the infrastructure of the damaged facilities to be better than before.

“This interest is demonstrated in several steps and measures such as increasing The federation’s financial appropriations annually, or by reevaluating the federation’s properties and returning investments to their normal state and enabling the federation to carry out many activities and participate in foreign tournaments,” Arnous said.

He expressed his hope that the efforts made by the General Sports Federation and the government would reflect positively on the ground and bring joy to the hearts of sports fans.
