Films from Jordan, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Syria were screened on Tuesday on the stage of the Culture Palace in the city of Sweidah on the third evening of the 7th Sweida Short Film Festival, which bears the name of international Egyptian artist Youssef Shaheen.
The evening witnessed the screening of the Syrian film “White Coal” by director Yaser Ali, the Jordanian film “Du Jour” by director Mou’tasem Smeirat, the Egyptian film “Aghareed” by director Naser Rabei’, the Film “Eutoptian’ by Algerian director Emad Khadjiti, the Tunisian Film “Coincidence” and the Egyptian film “Available to All” by director Shehab Ashraf.
The evening was concluded by the Syrian film “Searching for Forgiveness”by young director Seif Haidar.
A number of people following up on the festival have expressed since the opening of the event that the quality of films has been enhanced, which encourages them to continue attending the shows until the end of the festival.
It is noteworthy that the festival will continue until next Thursday with the participation of 33 films from Syria and a number of Arab countries, At its conclusion, the results of competitions for the best film, screenplay, direction, cinematography and actor will be announced after being selected by a jury that includes an elite group of specialists in filmmaking.
