Aoun: We reject any infringement on Lebanon’s legitimate rights within its territorial waters

Lebanese President Michel Aoun has expressed Lebanon’s rejection of any infringement on its legitimate rights within its territorial waters and Lebanon’s commitment to Resolution 1701.

He said that the Israeli naval violations of Lebanese sovereignty are no less dangerous than the land and air violations that Israel continues to carry out.

“Lebanon is keen to activate cooperation between the army and UNIFIL in order to maintain stability and address the issues raised through dialogue and coordination,” said Aoun during his meeting with the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Major General Stefano Del Col on December 17.

 

During the meeting, Aoun called to investigate the reasons for the violation of an oil exploration ship operating for the Israeli enemy forces, and staying there for 7 hours in the Lebanese territorial waters.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli enemy continues to violate Lebanese sovereignty, not caring about the relevant international laws and decisions, especially Resolution 1701.
