American website: The new western move to send main battle tanks to Kiev is a reckless and dangerous escalation

The American World Socialist website described Britain and Poland’s decision to send main battle tanks to confront Russia in Ukraine, as “the most reckless move taken by NATO since its establishment, as this move paves the way for the United States and Germany to take a similar decision.”

The site made it clear that if Berlin follows London’s example, it will be the first time in 80 years that German tanks cross the Polish border to participate in a military confrontation, indicating that tanks are an offensive weapon, not a defensive one, and are used to breach the opponent’s lines, with the aim of occupying the lands, which represents a new turning point in the crisis in Ukraine.

The site saw that such moves actually indicate an expansion of the West’s involvement in the Ukraine crisis, as the United States is already training hundreds of Ukrainians to use armored vehicles at its base in the German state of Bavaria, and the US is also conducting military maneuvers with NATO using such vehicles.

In addition to the aforementioned, sending main battle tanks to Ukraine means that these tanks need extensive logistical networks to arm and support them. One M1 Abrams tank consumes 60 gallons of fuel per hour when deployed, and these tanks also need crews. Most of the tanks will be from NATO itself.

Each Leopard 2 tank costs an average of $15 million, according to the site. In addition to the fact that these systems will be an obvious target, their human and logistical resource convoys will also turn into targets, and the issue of protecting them will be an imperative for NATO.

With the expansion of Western intervention in Ukraine and the sending of more weapons, especially tanks, NATO countries  and America are putting their credibility in the outcome of the war at stake and will resort under the pretext of protecting their military property and forces to engage in direct confrontation with Russia.

The site indicated that the Europeans and Americans will face the repercussions of these aspects of the continuous escalations on the part of the governments of their countries, which promised not to enter into a major war.

The strategy pursued by Washington with regard to Ukraine is entirely reckless, according to the description of the site, and is driven not only by plans to control the world, but also by economic and social interests.

The accelerating escalation of events in Ukraine and the intensification of arms pumping into it over the past two weeks confirms that the United States and NATO are only spreading lies about their true intentions in the Ukraine crisis, and deliberately concealing the consequences of their actions, whether in terms of the lives that have been lost and will be lost as a result of the conflict, or in terms of taxpayers’ money which is madly pumped into the regime in Kiev.
