Al-Zou’bi: Neither Erdogan nor Rulers in Riyadh or Doha Can Guarantee that Terrorism Won’t Spread in Their Countries
DAMASCUS, (ST)-Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi has stressed that the Israeli occupation entity doesn’t comply with any international resolution that doesn’t serve its interests, referring also to the non-commitment of Turkey and Jordan to Security Council resolutions Nos. 2170 and 2178 and to their cooperation with Qatar and Saudi Arabia on training terrorists and facilitating their infiltration into Syria.
Al-Zou’bi, who was speaking last night during an interview with the “Alikhbaria Syria TV”, said “countries, like Iraq and Lebanon, don’t have enough ability to control their borders with Syria,” pointing out that in Lebanon there are some takfiri extremist forces which support the armed terrorist groups in Syria.
The minister affirmed that countries of the world can’t guarantee that the terrorism hitting Syria won’t target them.
“Neither Erdogan nor the rulers in Riyadh or Doha can guarantee that terrorism won’t spread in their countries as it did in Syria,” he said.
Al-Zou’bi, who said that Syria and Iraq witness the same battle against the same enemy, stressed that “any counter-terrorism effort should take into consideration all information about the areas where the terrorist groups exist, about their funding and arms supply routes and about the parties sponsoring them.” He pointed out that there is another way to confront “Daesh” terrorist organization other than the coalition’s air raids, such as knowing the parties behind funding and arming the terrorists of Daesh.
“When we condemn terrorism, we do it regardless the geography or the nationality of the victims of any terrorist attack. The terrorism which hit in Paris, London, Madrid, Damascus, Baghdad, Cairo or Gaza was the same and the Western countries and their agents in the Arab governments were morally, materially and legally responsible for the spread of the terrorist takfiri thinking and the terrorist mentality,” the Information Minister said.
He added the current circumstances as well as the international pressure plus the Saudi and Turkish role against Syria and Iraq have all served the Zionist scheme in the region, urging political, economic and security cooperation and cohesion between Syria and Iraq as to face the danger of terrorism.
“Such cohesion needs meetings between Syrian and Iraqi leaderships and necessitates awareness about the goals of what is going on in the region, as there are some tools in the Gulf seeking the undermining of security and stability as well as the civilization and natural resources in Syria and Iraq,” the minister said.
He stressed that Syria is still considering the Zionist entity as the only enemy of the Arab nation and that the main strategic conflict in the region is between this enemy and the entire Arab nation.
He pointed out that Egypt, after the fall of the “Moslem Brotherhood” project, should regain its historical national leading role toghter with Syria and Iraq away from any foreign pressure.
