Al-Moallem to visit China this week, Chinese MFA says

Beijing  – The Syrian Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Walid al-Moallem will visit China this week, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei announced Tuesday.

Al-Moallem will visit China from 23 to 26 December and will meet his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Lei said in a press briefing, according to Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

 Earlier Monday, Lei said that his country will soon invite representatives of the Syrian Government and opposition to visit china with the aim of pushing forwards the political settlement process for the crisis in Syria.

China continuously calls for solving the crisis in Syria through dialogue among the Syrians themselves without premediated conditions and rejects any foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs, as well as it emphasized the necessity of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and unity.
