Al-Mikdad takes part in the Ministerial meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement

Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad will take part in the Ministerial meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) which will kicks off its activities today in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan under the theme: “NAM, United and Steadfast in Confronting Emerging Challenges”.

The meeting will discuss several issues related to the political and economic challenges facing NAM countries, mainly affirming the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of member states and the non-interference in the internal affairs of these countries, confirming people’s right to self-determination, ending colonialism and intensifying cooperation in fighting terrorism.   The meeting will also discuss issues that have to do with enhancing NAM’s countries’ solidarity in the face of the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by some western countries on a number of NAM states.

Issues related to promoting and preserving multilateralism, enhancing the culture of peace and dialogue between civilizations and achieving the agenda of the Sustainable Development 2030 will also be discussed.
