Al- Madafa:The first legislative school in Sweida

Al- Madafa is the first legislative school in Sweida due to its role in spreading moral and humanitarian values among al-Sweida all different sectors and citizens.

It is an open club for conducting all kinds of dialogues in all fields, namely in the social, agricultural, commercial, industrial and political domains. It is also the most suitable place for holding meetings and political symposiums where everyone has the right to express himself freely through speaking about his daily suffering.

All al-Sweida scholars and men of decisions are gathering in al- Madafa  to teach our children about our tradition and customs Through telling them about their ancestors ‘ endeavors and attitudes regarding defending their existence and safeguarding their homeland.

Our sons learn how to deal with others. They learn how to respect their tradition and community in a-lMadafa.

All people in Sweida are gathering in al-Madafa to discuss their problems in a bid that aimed at finding suitable solutions. The wise men are exerting intensive efforts regarding putting an end to our problems through finding solutions that coincide with our civilized position as Syrians.

To sit in al- Madafa you must abide by certain rules, including the way of sitting, speaking and behaving, however the guest has always the priority in everything.

al-Madafa which is the place for spreading the values of morality and coexistence was also the place for lunching all calls of bridging caps among people all over our homeland’s territories.

In al-Madafa every one has the right of speaking no one can interrupt him or halt him no matter if the person was big or young, man or woman. It is a real court. Many people in Sweida resort to Al-madafa for finding solution to their problems.

It is also a center for offering all-out monetary and moral aid for all people, namely the displaced whom suffered due to our country’s current crisis.

The researchers in al-Sweida folklore Salman al-bada’ash has spoken recently in a special lecture on al-madafa social role in Sweida.

In the lecture the researcher said we can define the role of al-madafa in Sweida through the speeches which take place in it.

The researcher also cited that during the great Syrian revolution against the French occupation al- Madafa was the place of lunching the revolution in Sweida when the French occupation arrested Adham Khanjar from al- Madafa of Sultan Basha al-Attrash who for his turn considered the event as a real insult.
