Al-Khalil: Facing current challenges in the Arab world requires concerted efforts that advance Arab economies

Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer Al-Khalil has stressed that the Arab world is facing huge challenges that require us to work hard as to advance the economies of the Arab countries and to adopt certain development tracks that contribute to alleviating the crises form which peoples in the Arab region suffer.

Al-Khalil made the remarks on Sunday during the meeting of the Arab League Economic and Social Council held in preparation for ghe forthcoming 33rd Arab Summit in the Bahraini Capital, Manama.

He stressed the need to link the axes of joint Arab economic action and focus on the economic and non-economic developments environmantal changes that the Arab region have witnessed and that have negatively affected the supply chains of goods and services. He clarified that this requires joint research and efforts to find ways to eliminate any dangers that may face Arab food security.

Al-Khalil submitted Syria’s proposal on preparing a study regarding Arab economic integration opportunities, mainly in food manufacturing given the capabilities the Arab country enjoy, with the aim of establishing joint companies that serve food security for all Arab countries.
