Al-Baath University’s team “Official Bots” qualifies for the ICPC

The “Official Bots” team, from Al-Baath University in Homs, Syria, was qualified for participating in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) after ranking 15th in the contests of the finals of the Arab Collegiate Programming Contest (ACPC 2021) held recently in the Egyptian city of Luxor.

The Rector of Al-Baath University Abdul Baset Al-Khaltieb said in a statement to SANA that the good results of the “Official Bots” team have qualified it to represent Syria at the international contest, stressing the university’s continuous support for the excelled students to achieve greater achievements at the world level in a way that upgrades the global ranking of the university.

Coordinator of the programming contest at Al-Baath University, Dr. Fadi Morshed, said that the competition took place at the headquarters of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Luxor.

 The competition included two rounds; the first was a test round that was conducted last Saturday and the second was an official one that was held yesterday and lasted for 5 hours, he added, pointing out that the contests included high-level software problems that need to be solved within this specific time.

 Each of the participating teams consisted of three members and a coach. They worked on one computer to solve a set of software problems.
