Israeli aggression on the port of Latakia is a violation of international laws, says Iran

Tehran, (ST) – Iran condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted the container yard in the commercial port in Latakia yesterday. It stressed that this was a violation of international laws and regulations.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in a statement on Wednesday, “in addition to the aggression against a member state of the United Nations and the clear violation of its sovereignty, this act by the Zionist entity is an act of aggression and a clear example of its quest to provoke crisis and tension. It is also an immoral and inhuman act.

Khatibzadeh said that the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territories are a violation of international laws, regulations and standards. He  said it  is the legitimate right of the Syrian government and people to defend themselves.

Khatibzadeh called on countries and international forums to take the necessary measures to prevent such attacks that endanger regional peace and security, because silence towards such this aggressive behavior of the Zionist entity will be an incentive and a green light to continue its barbaric actions.
