Next Sunday, the Ministry of Health will launch the National Vaccination campaign to follow up on children who have dropped out of vaccination from the age of one to five years and will continue until June 9.
According to the Director of Primary Health Care in the Ministry, Dr. Razan Al-Tarabishi, the campaign is being implemented in 1,209 health centers and through 777 mobile teams covering various regions, with the participation of 9,500 health workers.
Tarabishi pointed out that the aim of the campaign is to ensure that children complete all the vaccinations included in the national immunization program, follow-up on children who have dropped out of it, give them due vaccinations, and provide them with a new vaccination card in the event of its absence.
Dr. Al-Tarabishi indicated that the ministry has taken all necessary measures to provide the requirements for the success of the campaign and to reach the targeted children by distributing vaccines to all governorates and regions, emphasizing the application of all preventive measures in light of the Corona pandemic.
Dr. Al-Tarabishi asserted that the vaccine is available, safe, free and effective, and is recommended by the World Health Organization. So, common symptoms such as cold, diarrhea or mild fever do not prevent vaccination.
Dr. Al-Tarabishi pointed out that the vaccines included in the national vaccination program enhance children’s immunity and protect them from dangerous childhood diseases.
