On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Correctionist Movement, a new meeting between the staff of the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Sweden and the Syrian expatriates was held on November 17, 2019 at 3:00 pm. The Syrian embassy in Stockholm in coordination and cooperation with the Baath Party Organization in Sweden called during meeting to open a dialogue with the Syrian citizens in the city of Vestros. The meeting was attended by the Syrian Charge d’Affaires in Sweden, ambassador Hamza Al-Duwalibi, consul Dr. Tamim Malko and consul Mrs. Mariam Shakra and a number of expatriates. The first meeting of this kind was held in the municipality of Södertälje.
The meeting was opened with a minute of silence in respect of our martyrs followed by the Syrian Arab anthem. During the meeting, ambassador Duwalibi stressed that the Embassy is implementing the directives of President Bashar al-Assad in providing all services and facilities to the Syrian citizens living in Sweden. He also stressed that the entire embassy staff are ready to provide facilities to expatriates without any discrimination, exceptions or any kind of mediation, and in a direct contact with the embassy as the embassy is open to all. “The Embassy is the honest link between citizens and the state institutions in Syria”, he said. It is keen to convey the issues of citizens to the concerned authorities to address them. The two consuls made a presentation on the services and facilities provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Embassy in Stockholm.
After answering all the questions which were asked by the expatriates, the attendees expressed their happiness with this practical initiative that the Embassy took with expatriates directly, and wished for more initiatives aimed at building ties between expatriates and motherland, Syria, in a practical and positive way.
