Tehran, Jun.13, (ST)- An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale hit areas of West Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran, without reports of human casualties or material damage.
The Iranian news agency “IRNA” quoted the Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institute of Tehran University as saying in a statement: “The epicenter of the quake is located at a depth of 19 kilometers from the surface of the earth near the Iranian-Turkish border”.
On the 25th of last month, an earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale hit the cities of Mashhad and Kalat in Khorasan Province, northeastern Iran.
