Saudi Politicians Suffer From A Too Old Mindset

Saudi politicians are suffering from a too old mindset, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said after Saudi-led coalition planes dropped leaflets in Yemen’s central Taizz province in an effort to demonize Iran.

Last week Saudi-led coalition planes dropped leaflets in Taizz asserting the coalition’s support for any Yemeni person opposed to “Iranian influence”.

Local residents said numerous leaflets – which read “The goal of coalition forces is to support the Yemeni people against Iranian influence” – had been dropped in the province.

In response, the Iranian top security official on Tuesday mocked at the Saudi war tactics, saying the move was done by the western states in the Cold War era to intimidate their citizens from communism and prevent any kind of freedom-seeking move under the same pretext.

“But this tactic is used fool-heartedly; handing out such campaign fliers does not correspond to the reality and facts on the ground and they would not intimidate the Yemeni people. Rather, they would say that our Iranian brothers have been the only ones who have rushed to our aid and Iran is the only country that has treated our wounded,” Shamkhani said.

Hence, this would not make the Yemeni people distance themselves” from Iran, he added.

Shamkhani further said the Saudis’ “upside-down and wrong use of the already failed lesson of the West signifies the worn-out mindset and thinking of the Saudi politicians“.

Saudi warships target Aden with missiles, kill dozens

On the other hand, Saudi warships fired a number of missiles on the coastal areas of the Southwestern seaport city of Aden, killing dozens of people in neighboring areas.

The Saudi military ships fired at the coastal regions of Abyan and Khur Maksar in Aden and calimd the lives of large groups of people in the nearby areas.

Saudi Arabia launched its bombing campaign against Yemen on March 26 in an attempt to restore power to fugitive President Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

According to FNA tallies, the Monarchy’s attacks have so far claimed the lives of at least 3,018 civilians, mostly women and children.

Meanwhile, according to a report by Yemen’s Freedom House Foundation, Saudi airstrikes have killed 3,512 Yemeni people, including 492 children and 209 women, since the beginning of the aggression.

The report added that 6,189 people were injured, including 978 children and 713 women, during the same period.

About 95,000 families have been displaced due to the Saudi-led airstrikes, according to the report.

The foundation further said 4,898 residential buildings have been either destroyed or damaged and some 857 civil service and public utility facilities have been destroyed.

On April 21, after four weeks of bombings, Riyadh declared end to military operations in Yemen, but Saudi warplanes are still bombing residential areas across the war-ravaged nation one week after.

Saudi – Led air strikes target clinic, ice factory in Hudaydah

The Saudi-led coalition warplanes bombed a clinic and an ice factory in the Western Yemeni province of al-Hudaydah.

Reports said the Saudi-led warplanes hit a clinic and ice factory in al-Zahra district in the Yemeni province of al-Hudaydah.

Meanwhile, Saudi air strikes bombed Yemeni army’s Brigade 10 base in Southern al-Hudaydah.

Earlier today, the Saudi fighter jets conducted a series of attacks on civilian areas in Salif district in al-Hudaydah, killing scores of people and injuring others.

Any threat to Karbala will turn Anbar to ISIL mass grave

Meanwhile, a senior member of Iraq’s popular Badr Organization warned the ISIL Takfiri terrorists not to even think of attacking the holy city of Karbala that hosts the Islam’s third Imam Hossein Ibn-e Ali (AS).

“ISIL is threatening regions around 180-200 kilometers away (from Karbala), if the Takfiri terrorists think of getting close to Karbala, Al-Anbar desert will turn into their mass grave,” al-Sumeriya news website quoted Hamed Saheb al-Karbalaei, Head of Badr Organization’s Karbala Branch, as saying on Tuesday.

He noted that Badr Organization’s military branch is reinforcing its forces in Nakhib, Hebariya, Rahaliya and Point 160 in Anbar province, adding that Badr’s highly-trained and well-equipped regiments are ready for action in Anbar province.

“Badr forces are now on the offensive, and not on the defensive, and are, thus, ready to confront the ISIL in all regions,” he concluded.

On April 25, Saheb al-Karbalaei announced that hundred of volunteer forces have joined Badr Organization to drive the ISIL out of Iraqi cities.

On Sunday, Iraq’s president, prime minister and parliament speaker in a joint meeting in Baghdad decided to arm all forces in Nineveh and Al-Anbar provinces to prepare them for war against ISIL.

During the meeting in Baghdad, Iraqi President Fouad Massoum, Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi and Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri underlined the need for helping the Iraqi army and popular forces in their fight against the ISIL.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Arab Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
