Russian Duma condemns the “Israeli Knesset” decision rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state

The Russian Duma condemned the position of the “Israeli Knesset” that opposes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The Council said in a statement today: “The representatives strongly condemn the position of the Israeli Knesset, which was adopted on the eighteenth of this month, and which affirmed without justification and without basis the rejection of the establishment of a Palestinian state, which nullifies any solutions to the conflict in the Middle East and destabilizes the region.”
The statement added: This decision “blatantly violates the principles and rules of international law that form the basis of settlement in the Middle East, as well as many legally binding UN Security Council resolutions, which were explicitly announced as a solution to the Palestinian issue and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state.”
The statement indicated that “the supporters of the war in the Knesset are trying, by making such statements, to neutralize the growing global support for the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people and to limit the determination of the supporters of a just settlement in the Middle East,” calling on the parliaments of countries of the world and international parliamentary organizations to condemn the illegal statements of the Knesset, and to make every possible effort to end the bloodshed in Palestine as soon as possible so as to resolve disputes by political and diplomatic means.
