The event was staged in the following cities (al-Ain,Dubai and Sharja).

To shed some light on al-Mohammad’s achievement and the current situation of the Special Games Federation, a local daily interviewed the SGF secretary Hana’I al-Waz who said: “undoubtedly,al-Mohammad’s victory is a great one .This achievement simply means that our players are able to surpass all obstacles rather than competing with elite players across the globe,”.
Al-Waz further added that Syria’s participation in the said event has enlisted within the framework of the federation’s plan to take part in the forthcoming world and West Asia championships.
“as a matter of fact,we have participated in the UAE event with only one player .But the results were wonderful.Al-Mohammad was able to go head-to-head with champions from Russia and other opponents from West Asia nations. We (the federation) are currently mapping out a plan for increasing the number of our players in the upcoming events including the World Powerlifting Championship which will be hosted by Dubai (5-11 April),”emphasized al-Waz.
It is to be noted that the federation will soon hold an indoor training camp for the national team at the Tishreen Sports Complex in Damascus.
The camp is part of the team’s preparation for taking part in the West Asia Basketball Championship (mobile chairs) which will be staged in the UAE in next May.
The players who are invited to join the camp are: Rasha Sheikh, Natalie Elias, Nora Badour, Yihya abo-Mughdib and Shadi Issa.
