An American website:  Is rael  aims to make Gaza an unlivable place

The Editor-in-Chief of the American CounterPunch website Joshua Frank has confirmed that  Israel aims to make Gaza an unlivable place. In addition to the brutal war of annihilation that it is waging with the most lethal weapons against the people of Gaza Strip to achieve its goal and  plan.

He pointed out in an article published by the website that flooding the tunnels with seawater is only part of an old strategy previously followed by the occupation forces over a period of two years which led to major environmental destruction in Gaza and the pollution of drinking water and the collapse of infrastructure.

The editor-in-chief  added that “Israel’s” plan this time is not limited to flooding the tunnels with salty sea water, as this water is contaminated with untreated sewage, which shows that this step is part of a broader Israeli goal, that  is to destroy the groundwater layers in Gaza that are already contaminated with sewage that leaked from dilapidated pipes.

“As if the indiscriminate Israeli bombing, which had already led to the destruction of 70 percent of Gaza’s buildings, was not enough.  Israel deliberately filled the tunnels with polluted water to ensure the suffering of the remaining buildings and make rebuilding impossible.”

Frank pointed out that the scorched earth tactics that Israel has been adopting for decades and intensified since the beginning of the current aggression against Gaza have completely destroyed countless olive fields.

He stressed   the importance of the olive tree and what it symbolizes for the Palestinians and their legitimate right in their occupied land.

Frank explained that while white phosphorus is considered an internationally banned weapon due to its extreme toxicity to humans, large concentrations of it have devastating effects on plants and animals. This is just a small part of the tons of munitions that “Israel” dropped on the people of Gaza in the past three months.

“The war of annihilation waged by “Israel” against the people of Gaza, supported by the administration of US President Joe Biden, is absolutely unprecedented . What the Israeli occupation has been doing since last October goes beyond killing the largest possible number of Palestinians to making Gaza a hell that cannot be lived in at all”. Frank concluded
