Slovak website: Maaloula – a Living Museum
Bratislava, (ST) – The Slovak website “Zoznam” described the town of Maaloula as a living museum. It said that everyone who visits it will realize that it is in an exceptional historical place.
This came as part of a photographic report on the town, which showed its streets, rock buildings, monasteries, and ancient churches.
The report referred to the rich history of a region that represents the cradle of Christianity.
The report noted that the town’s residents still speak Aramaic.
The report spoke about the specificity of the Aramaic language and the history of the Monastery of Saint Sarkis in Maaloula, which dates back to the fourth century AD.
