The People’s Assembly commemorates the 50th Anniversary of October War of Liberation

The People’s Assembly today commemorated the 50th anniversary of the October Liberation during a session chaired by the PA Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh.
In a speecc, Sabbagh stressed that the October war of liberation of the homeland, which was launched by the men of the heroic Syrian Arab Army led by the founding leader Hafez al-Assad, embodied the geatest victory for the Arabs in modern history, restored dignity to the Arab nation, broke the barriers of fear and delusions and shattered the legend promoted by the Zionist army as being invincible.

The Speaker of the Council indicated that the October war of liberation has not been a transient event, but rather came as an embodiment of the spirit of sacrifice and redemption. Sabbagh said: “Our revival of this fragrant anniversary today is a living and clear expression of our adherence to the approach of the founding leader and our emancipation of the heroism of our valiant armed forces, and we must draw lessons from this anniversary so to be an incentive for all of us for more effort and continuous work in order to protect our country and serve our people and implement the directives of our leader President Bashar al-Assad”.

 Speaker Sabbagh greeted the sacrifices of the martyrs in October Liberation War, expressing the Syrians’ gratitude for the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army who established a school in love for the country and in defening the homeland.
