The activities of “Al-Wadi” (Valley) Conference for Syrian Doctors in the homeland and the abroad was launched today, with the participation of doctors of various specializations from Syria, America and France, at the Al-Wadi Private International University Wadi Al-Nadara area in Homs.
Dr. Abdul Latif Hanano, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed in a speech he delivered that the conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate students, masters and doctoral degrees, to communicate with doctors abroad and exchange knowledge and new medical research, with the aim of raising the level of graduates and improving the quality of higher education.
Dr. Shafiq Basil, Rector of Al-Wadi University, indicated that the medical conference has become an annual tradition that the university insists on holding to be a bridge of communication for the exchange of medical scientific research between distinguished Syrian doctors of various specializations in the expatriation and inside Syria. He indicated that the conference’s activities will last for two days and they includes 51 lectures with the participation 95 researchers from Syria and the countries of expatriation.
Dr. Fahd Shribati, a member of the Syrian Medical Syndicate, pointed to the importance of this conference, which brings together the best Syrian doctors at home and abroad with different specializations, pointing out that the Syrian Doctors’ Syndicate pays great attention to such conferences being a participatory platform that contributes to the support and development of medical work and social aspects.
On behalf of expatriate doctors, Dr. Ibrahim Karam expressed the expatriates’ happiness with the continuation of this conference, which provides them with an opportunity for scientific and social contact, for transferring the most important medical developments to the people of our beloved country, Syria, and for seeing the innovations of the Syrian doctors who defied the difficulties and continued to perform their humanitarian message.
For his part, Tariq Kakhia, Head of the Student Union Branch at Al-Wadi University, confirmed that the conference constitutes an important quality platform, as the conference provides students with medical scientific information that increases their knowledge, and brings together researchers and academics in a suitable atmosphere to exchange ideas and information.
In a meeting with some of the participants, Dr. Hanna Barjoud, who resides in France, expressed his pride as a Syrian expatriate doctor to participate in this conference, which presents the most important researches at the global level in the medical field.
Dr. Imad Saadeh, chairman of the Damascus Doctors Syndicate, expressed his keenness to attend the medical conference that brings together doctors from inside the country and abroad to see the latest scientific and research developments, which is reflected in the quality of medical services provided to patients.
Dr. Dina Rishan pointed out the importance of holding the conference to learn about scientific and medical developments, especially that the conference deals with important topics such as Artificial Intelligence and robotic surgery.
