Reneva Fourier is a South African political analyst who has been living in Syria for the past three years. She has witnessed first hand the Israeli attacks on Syrian soil, their barbarity and their savagery.Israel in open defiance to international laws and norms has attacked Syria many times not even bothering itself with false pretexts.
Israel’s attacks against Syria that systematically violate the air space of Syria and neighboring states and target civilian objects are a destabilizing factor in the region.
Sadly the UN turns a blind eye to Syria’s appeals about the Israeli recurrent attacks on its territory though Syria has repeatedly addressed both the Secretary-General and the Security Council of the United Nations regarding the numerous violations of the Charter of the United Nations and norms of international humanitarian law.
In its letters to the Security Council and the United Nations, the Syrian government has called for their action to stop the aggression of the Zionist regime and to hold this regime accountable to international laws.
In Reneva’s recent travels she went to Lebanon where the sound of thunder caused her hackles to rise in anticipation of an Israeli attack – so programmed was she to identify loud scary sounds with Israeli attacks.
So she wrote a poem, a very symbolic one!!
