President al-Assad to a Mauritanian delegation: The war on the region is intellectual and ideological, more dangerous and more effective than the military war
President Bashar al-Assad received today a Mauritanian parliamentary delegation headed by Mustafa Sohaib, head of the Mauritanian-Syrian Friendship Committee in the Mauritanian House of Representatives.
Talks dealt with the situation at the Arab arena and the basic role of peoples in the stability of this region by preserving and clinging to their identity. President al-Assad considered that the war on this region is primarily an intellectual and ideological war, which is more dangerous and more influential than the military war, pointing out that the Mauritanian people, despite the geographical distance of their country, have always been linked and have adhered to their Arab identity and affiliation throughout the various stages of history.
President al-Assad stressed the importance of mutual visits between parliamentary and popular delegations and investing in their results by converting them into ideas and work mechanisms that bring people closer and serve their interests.
The members of the delegation noted Syria’s stances and commitment to Arab issues, and pointed out the special status of Syria to all Mauritanians, stressing the continuation of standing by the Syrian people in the face of the terrorist war they are being exposed to, which not only targets the Syrian people, but all peoples who adhere and stick to their Arab identity.
