With the participation of 430 national companies, the activities of the “Made in Syria” specialized export exhibition for clothing, textiles and production requirements will be launched today in the Fairgrounds in Damascus.
In 6 showrooms, “Made in Syria” which is organized by the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Industry and the Syrian Garment and Textile Exporters Association exhibits men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, in addition to production requirements.
Head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry and the head of Aleppo Chamber of Industry, Engineer Faris Al-Shihabi, said to a SANA reporter that the exhibition has its customers and Arab businessmen. It is an important economic event because it brings together the largest number of industrialists working in this field with the aim of exporting national products to Arab markets, especially Iraq.
Engineer Al-Shihabi underlined the keenness of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry to provide the exhibition’s requirements, to prepare it at the highest levels to ensure its success and to present a positive image of the national industry and the Syrian product. A thousand Arab businessmen are invited to visit the exhibition – they are being provided with facilities like entry visas, flight bookings and hotel reservations , in order to make the exhibition a success and achieve the desired goal.
Al-Shihabi pointed out that what is new in this exhibition is the participation of industrialists from the “Producers 2” exhibition to enable them to continue working and producing, expanding their projects and marketing their production.
Al-Shihabi said that the exhibition has become one of the important and permanent dates for economic activities. Our permanent goal is to develop and expand it continuously and to attract more Arab businessmen to visit it with the aim of concluding export contracts for national products and in a way that contributes to supporting the national economy and promoting the Syrian industry, Al-Shihabi added. The Syrian economy has always been distinct in form and content despite the systematic sabotage and destruction affected it due to terrorism, however, industrialists are striving to achieve industrial recovery.
For his part, the head of the Syrian Garment and Textile Exporters Association, Ragheed Al-Halabi, said in a similar statement that this year’s exhibition is the largest in terms of area, diversity and number of participants, as the number of companies reached 430 national companies distributed over six showrooms and an area of about 20 thousand square meters.
Al-Halabi stated that businessmen and traders are invited to visit the exhibition from Iraq, Libya, Algeria, Lebanon, Jordan and the Arab Gulf countries to be briefed on the latest productions of the textile industry in Syria and to conclude export contracts. He noted that the exhibition is a real opportunity for the textile industrial sector in Syria to prove its presence again in the export markets despite the difficulties this industry is facing due to a shortage of raw materials and energy carriers.
The activities of the “Made in Syria” specialized export exhibition for clothing and textiles, fall and winter 2021-2022, were organized last September, with the participation of about 180 national companies.
