85 Palestinians prisoners continue with their hunger strike in solidarity with detainees Rayyan and Awawdeh
85 Palestinians prisoners in Israeli occupation jails continue with their open-ended hunger strike in solidarity with the two detained Palestinian freedom fighters Raed Rayyan and Khalil Awawdeh who are also on a hunger strike in protest against the Israeli occupation’s brutal practices against the Palestinian prisoners.
The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Affairs Commission said in a statement on Tuesday that Rayyan, 28, has been on hunger strike for 111 days demanding an end to his illegal administrative detention without charge or trial, while Khalil Awawdeh, 40, from the West Bank city of Al-Khalil has been on hunger strike for 25 days in protest of his prolonged administrative detention without charge.
Last month, Awawdeh broke a 111-day hunger strike after being reassured by Israeli prison authorities that his administrative detention will not be renewed, but he resumed the hunger strike a week later after the occupation authorities broke their promise and refused to end his unfair detention.
Both Rayyan and Awawdeh suffer from a deteriorating health condition due to the deliberate medical negligence of the occupation authorities.
